HS2 High Speed Railway 2022-2023
Senior Architectural Designer
HS2 is a state-of-the-art, high-speed line critical for the UK’s low carbon transport future. It will provide much-needed rail capacity across the country, and is integral to rail projects in the North and Midlands – helping rebalance the UK economy.
As part of Egis Group's HS2 team Alina was involved in developing the design of several assets along the high speed line in the proximity of Birmingham. Her work entailed leading the internal package for Long Itchington Wood North building, coordinating and supporting a team of 3-5 assistants through several submissions, participating to weekly meetings, liaising with the specialist design team and developing details as needed on specific areas of the buildings.

The Elizabeth line will connect the outer suburbs to the heart of the City and West End, as well as providing a quick route between central London and Heathrow Airport.
With a solid background in the as-built phase documentation, Alina has demonstrated proficiency in efficiently delivering a substantial volume of drawings, allocated across multiple packages encompassing the entirety of the station. As an integral member of the core team, she actively contributed to providing technical support through site instructions (MCI's), generating construction drawings, revising planning application documentation, actively participating in weekly team meetings, and maintaining effective communication with MEP and structural engineers to ensure comprehensive design coordination.
Crossrail C360 Ventilation Shafts | Woolwich Station
Architectural Designer 2018-2019
Both the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail 1) and the Tube needs shafts along the tunnelled section of the railway to provide ventilation and emergency access should it be needed. During everyday operations, the motion of trains will push air out of the tunnels and pull air into them from outside.
During her time spent at WW+P, Alina has actively contributed to two substantial Crossrail projects throughout the as-built phase, necessitating consistent engagement with clients to obtain relevant information and clarifications pertaining to alterations made during the construction process. Additionally, she diligently reviewed site-specific documentation such as Field Change Directives (FCDs), Request for Information (RFIs), and Project Manager Instructions (PMIs) to ensure comprehensive inclusion of all pertinent details within the final drawings. Moreover, Alina actively participated in weekly design team meetings, fostering effective collaboration with MEP and structural engineers to ensure seamless coordination of information.
